Railo at CeBIT 2010

I am happy to say that at this year's CeBIT in Hannover, Germany we are joining the stand of our partners Contens and Intergral.
We are very proud that both Contens and Intergral are increasingly relying on Railo as a CFML engine. If you like to visit us, we have many new things we can show you and we might even help you with some problems. If you need any assistance from the best Railo programmers come see us in hall 6 stand J32. On one of the days Mark Drew will be there as well.

We're looking forward to seeing you in Hannover in 2 March! If you want to meet us there either contact us or fill out the form on the contens homepage.

Meet the Railo Team at cf.Objective() 2009!

Gert, Mark, Peter and Sean will all be at cf.Objective() 2009 this week. Mark, Peter and Sean are all speaking (on non-Railo-specific topics) but all four of us will be available to answer any questions you have about Railo as well as the support and consulting packages that we offer. I expect you'll be able to find us in the bar every evening - and the opening reception on Wednesday evening - but we should be easy enough to find wherever we are throughout the conference!
cf.Objective() promises to be an awesome conference and we're all looking forward to the great sessions and to meeting everyone and hearing your Railo success stories!

CFCamp in Munich next week

Finally after 6 long years there is a CFML conference in Germany again. The basic schedule is like that of "A wee dram of Scotch in London" this year. 7 Speakers for one day. If you like to read more about the event, just go to the official (Railo powered :-) website.

I am very glad that we from Railo were able to bring two very famous CFML people to the CFCAMP. Luis Majano, author of Coldbox and Mark Drew, well known to all of you from
CFEclipse and the Reactor framework where he is leading the development at the moment. We hope to see as many as possible in Munich next week.

Great!!! First meeting in Tampa called off due to strike at Lufthansa.

What an odyssey. Everything worked well, got to the airport in time and then it started. I had to run from one check in counter to the next and back to the first. So after finally getting to the gate ready for boarding, one of the ground crew members told us that the flight is delayed due to a strike of the ground and catering crew at Frankfurt airport. I notified Donald immediately and hoped for the best.
After a delay of two hours, the plane was finally boarded and we took off 2:30 hours later than scheduled. So I was arriving just in time in Atlanta and was able to pass the passport control and the customs quite fast, just
to find out that the plane I was supposed to take down to Tampa was broken and therefore canceled. Great.
So what to do? Directly fly to Detroit? Not possible since all flights are fully booked. So I will fly down to
Tampa, do NO presentation (which I am really sorry for!!!) but at least meet some of the people from Jagged Peak the ones that build Edge the CFML shop software Davidoff uses. If you are in the Tampa area and you were supposed to attend today's presentation, I am really sorry for the cancellation, if you want to complain, you can do it here: www.lufthansa.com for the strike and www.delta.com for the broken plane.
Sorry again folks. And many thanks to Donald Bickel from the Tampa CFUG for all the help and support.

Railo @ CFUnited

Next week we will be at CFUnited. We will share a booth togehter with Intergral (FusionX products) and are there to present the nev version of Railo 3.0 and talk about the open source release Railo 3.1 on JBoss.org. If you have any comments or questions, don't hesitate to visit us of course.
On Wednesday we will host a BoF session which you can see as an opportunity to talk to us about the further development and other open source related things. The questions I would like to discuss are:

Questions about the partnering with jboss.org

What are your expectations

How should we work together with Adobe

what would you like to have in the open source edition

independant steering commitee suggestions

functionalities of JBoss AS in Railo (Hibernate, JBoss Cache etc.)

support things

Training opportunities

bundles with other apps

Packages, plugins, modules

On Friday, June 20th in the common keynote, Mark Drew our temporary evangelist will present the plans for Railo 3.1 and maybe some of the results
of the BoF session. We would really be happy to see you at CFUnited 2008.

Since we had a lot of fun at "Scotch on the rocks" last year, we will definitely attend this year's event in Edinburgh as well.
After visiting CeBIT in Hannover in the beginning of March, I'll attend CFUnited Europe & CFUnited in March and June and of course we'll visit some CFUG's this year too. We have many things to show and many things we would like to discuss. New and changed ones. So if you like to see us, just eMail us ...
